For all you followers...

K, so, topic of today.....first day of summer camp. What all of you that aren't there are missing. Today we worked on some pretty wicked cool bird feeders made out of clay. The coolest thing is that even though we all start with the same basic proto-type, when each person brings their personality to it they all turn out fabulously different! I am excited because I started mine to imitate a clay piece I got at the Ann Arbor art fair....but....it didn't quite work like that....but....whats cool is that it is working in a different way that actually follows with a technique I have been developing in my painting. There is so much art to do and so little time. In the words of one of my art idols, Mrs. Jacobsen when asked why she makes art.... "because I cant not".

The man, the legend.

Sunday...

So Im sitting here on the computer again, it seems to be an extension of my body any more. Currently working on a possible logo design for the amazing Josh Pilot Band. By the way, as a teacher I never knew what made me enjoy some students so much more than others, well actually I pretty much had a blast with them all, thanks for that former students, but anyway, I guess there is something special about the ones that had the same wicked cool sense of humor as me. Sarcasm to the max but never meaning anything bad behind any of it. I consider it a challenge or maybe an obligation to jump on any possible irony or slam, but I equally encourage and enjoy a creative use of slammage back at me. I think you have to look at life from a unique perspective or you'd be doomed to a glass half empty. Hats off today to Josh, for creating a quiz on facebook that made me laugh out loud. I totally love him, in a purely platonic way.....of course. Out for now.

Modern technology

Ok, so I've never blogged before.....here goes. From what I am told, people may want to hear what I'm thinking and what may be happening at the studio. In the future I will highlight activities, post events and new classes, and share my crazy A.D.D. thoughts with you on here. Networking... it's all about networking baby. Right now, pretty much all thoughts are with trying to fill up my summer camps. They are going to be a blast! Kids will get to do integrated projects in art, music and drama every day. There are 8 different weeks and themes. Each camper will get a t-shirt and a DVD of all the weeks activities. So.... if you know of anyone that would benefit from this fun, self esteem building opportunity let me know! Or tell them to check out my wicked cool web site: http://www.theheartfactory.com . Just remember art is the perfect anti-drug.
